Can you bill my insurance?

No, the tests we offer are out-of-pocket. We do NOT bill prescription or medical insurance for the tests we offer.

Patients may choose to submit a manual claim to their medical insurance. However, we can NOT guarantee reimbursement. The manual claim must be submitted by the patient, not Lake Hills Pharmacy. We can help provide the information needed to submit the manual claim.

How long will it take to get my results?

Results will be sent to you by the end of the day that your sample is collected.

How will my results be sent to me?

Results will be emailed to you, but results can also be printed if you choose to come back to the pharmacy for a printed copy.

What ages do you offer COVID tests for?

Currently, we only offer COVID-19 testing for patients ages 5 and up.

How do you perform the COVID tests?

Our COVID-19 test swabs are performed by the patient. This is for the protection of our customers and our staff members. Our testing coordinators will ensure the process is easy and painless for you.

I’ve had close contact with someone with COVID. When should I get tested?

If you develop symptoms, get tested immediately. If you do not develop symptoms, get tested at least 5 days after you last had contact with the person with COVID.

Can I use your tests for travel?

The testing requirements for travel change frequently and depend on the location you are traveling. We highly recommend checking with your destination for guidance on what COVID test is accepted/needed BEFORE scheduling an appointment. We offer a PCR test that may be accepted.

What kind of COVID test do you offer and how does it work?

  • Rapid PCR Test - The PCR test is a test to detect genetic markers (RNA) of the SARS-CoV-2. This test is used to detect an active infection. Our PCR test can be performed by a nasopharyngeal or non-invasive nasal swab of both nostrils.
  • Rapid Antigen Test - The antigen test is a rapid test to detect the presence of the nucleocapsid protein antigen of the SARS-CoV-2. This test is used to detect an active infection. Our antigen test can be performed by a nasopharyngeal or non-invasive nasal swab of both nostrils.
  • Antibody Test - The combo antibody test is a test to detect the presence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. This test is used to detect a past infection. This test can detect and differentiate between IgM and IgG antibodies. IgM antibodies are more useful in determining a recent infection; while, IgG antibodies are detectable for a longer period. It takes 1-3 weeks to develop antibodies after an infection or receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
